Extraction arms
Our range of extractors is both broad and cutting-edge. Today we are the world leader in laboratory environments. Throughout, our extractors have great positional stability and user-friendly design in aluminum. Particularly advantageous are also the external joints that provide a clean inside with low pressure drops. Need help or have a question? Please contact us.

Remove pollutants directly at the source with Fumex spot extraction
Locating local exhaust ventilation close to the source of contamination is essential for effective removal of airborne particles and gases. The Swedish Work Environment Authority emphasizes that the short range of local exhaust ventilation makes this proximity particularly important to achieve sufficient capture rates and minimize dispersion in the premises. Our solutions enable precise and stable positioning for effective interception.
Durable materials and thoughtful design
Fumex spot extractors use aluminum in external joints for durability, light weight and easy cleaning. The design prioritizes:
- Low pressure drops, thanks to external joints and generally few details in the suction duct, minimizing resistance and improving airflow.
- Positional stability, especially in harsh environments, where arms can be pivoted and positioned precisely without moving undesirably.
- Easy cleaning and product care, especially on point-of-use extractors with hose, where Fumex’s Q-MaiD quick release system allows for fast disassembly. It simplifies cleaning, inspection and maintenance, reducing downtime and helping to maintain functionality and service life. The system does not cover all extraction points, but is currently used on the majority of hose-based solutions and is gradually being added to the range.
Extraction arms for industrial and laboratory environments
The needs differ between industrial operations and laboratories, which is reflected in our product range. In industrial environments, larger, high-capacity arms are often used to deal with welding fumes, grinding dust and oil mist. These designs have longer reach, larger dimensions and robust materials that can withstand harsh working conditions.
Laboratory environments, on the other hand, require compact and flexible solutions with high precision. This is where spot extractors with smaller dimensions and customized designs are used to effectively remove chemical vapours and particles close to the work surface. The combination of low noise, stable positioning and easy adjustment makes them particularly suitable for sensitive operations.
Fumex – expert in work environment and local exhaust ventilation
Fumex initiated its product development back in 1975, focusing on managing risks from welding fumes, grinding dust and oil mist – with the work environment at the center. The Swedish Work Environment Authority’s report(RAP 2013:05) highlights the risks of welding fumes that can cause chronic bronchitis, COPD, carcinogenic chromium compounds and other health problems.
A similar risk picture also exists in laboratory environments, where exposure to chemical vapors, gases and volatile organic compounds can lead to irritation of the respiratory tract and mucous membranes, nerve damage and long-term damage to organs and health, which is addressed in the Swedish Work Environment Authority’s regulations on chemical work environment risks (AFS 2011:19). Local exhaust ventilation is a priority measure to prevent the spread of these contaminants, in combination with personal respiratory protection.
Fumex’s experience in meeting and exceeding these regulatory requirements permeates the development of each model. The company customizes solutions to specific contaminants and environments with the aim of contributing to safer workplaces.
